SSc7.1: Heat Island Effect - Non-Roof
Intent: Reduce the Heat Island Effect for developed areas.
Requirements: Place a minimum of 50% of parking spaces under shade or provide shade, paving materials with SRI (Solar Reflectance Index) of at least 29, or open grid pavement system for 50% of the site hardscape.
There is an Exemplary Performance Point available for sites that increase the requirement to 100%.
