SSc6.2: Stormwater Design - Quality Control
Intent: Reduce or eliminate water pollution by reducing the amount of impervious cover on a site.
Requirements: In order to get awarded a point for this credit, there must be a stormwater managament plan that reduces impervious cover and treats the stormwater runoff from 90% of the average annual rainfall using acceptable best management practices (BPMs).
Potential Technologies & Strategies: Try to use alternative surfaces such as vegetated roofs, pervious pavement or grid pavers, rain gardens, vegetated swales, rainwater recycling, etc. in order to reduce the amount of impervious area on the site.
There is no Exemplary Performance points available for this credit. This credit is part of the Design Submittal. There are a few Calculations required for this submittal.
One of the Referenced Standards includes: “Guidance Specifying Management Measures for Sources of Non-Point Pollution in Coastal Waters, January 1993 (Document No. EPA 840B92002)”
