SSc5.1: Site Development - Protect or Restore Habitat
The Intent of SSc5.1 - Site Development - Protect or Restore Habitat is to promote biodiversity by conserving existing natural areas and or restoring damaged areas.
Requirements: There is a pretty involved system of compliance for this credit, it would be useful to look at the exact literature in the LEED manual. These practices involve protecting greenfield sites, restoring previously developed sites including the possible use of a vegetated roof.
Clearly an obvious approach would be to follow the instructions in the LEED manual to ensure proper measures have been completed in order to achieve this credit.
There are no associated Calculations to do for this credit. There is an exemplary performance point available for increasing the amount of site area being restored. This is part of the Construction Submittal.
