SSc4.2: Alternative Transportation: Bicycle Storage & Changing Rooms
Intent: Reduce the pollution caused by automobile use.
Requirements: Provide bike racks within 200 yards of building enterance for 5% of all building users and provide showers for 0.5% of all FTE occupants. For residential projects, provide bike racks for 15% of occupants with some sort of covering.
Approach: Implement bike racks into the design of the construction.
There are several Calculations used to determine the number of bike racks needed.
